Kerry Costello - Gibson Crime Thriller Series Bk 1 - The Long Game - Reviewed - 4/3/19
A dramatic story fuelled by years of unresolved bitter hatred, and revenge - with a shocking twist that that will elude you until the very last page. Police Sergeant Gibson investigates what appears to be an elderly man’s death by natural causes. Using instinct, good old fashioned detective work and a dogged determination to get at the truth, Sergeant Gibson pieces together an intricate puzzle of long-awaited retribution.
What did I like? My favorite genre is Mystery thrillers and this one tops my list right now. The intricate work in this book kept me on the edge and never in a million years did I see the ending. Loved the author's details and descriptions.
What will you like? Action Suspense, fascinating, exciting, exhilarating, sensational and mind-blowing finale. The research and work put into this book shows on every page, with more action than a barrel of monkeys. Twists and turns that keep the characters developing as the storyline blooms. Very well written and can’t wait for Book 2 to be released. I received this ARC for an honest review with no other compensation.

Like Kerry Costello's prior two books Florida Shakedown immediately grabs you. Once the plotline is established it's off and running. I especially like Kerry's writing style in that he writes about places he knows and provides great details. His characters are believable and story lines are both interesting and usually tied to current events. Like most good stories his endings always have a little twist at the end. The only problem I have is I usually read to help me fall back to sleep, these books don't allow me that pleasure as I can't put them down!

As the previous books in this series, the author has given us another really good story. I am absolutely hooked on Gibson. After his time in America he returns to the UK but gets itchy feet to go back to the USA . On his return there he aims to help Lorna who is on Death Row for something she claims she was set up for.
Was she really set up? If so can Gibson save her? There is so much going on in this story with a degree of humour too. At the risk of becoming boring, I really have to repeat what a good story this is and deserves the five stars I am giving.
Please keep them coming Kerry Costello , I will keep on reading.

The following review was not anyway influence by the manner that I received the copy. I am not a proof reader or editor. I judge the book on whether I like it or didn’t like it.
The author has weaved a clever little tale for the reader. The two main character ar an American soldier named Joe and a British soldier named Frankie who meet during the Iraq war. Joe saves Frankie’s life and being a proper Brit he tells Joe to call if he ever needs a favor. Thus the title “You Owe Me.”
Now with some time machine travel we find Frankie with a hand of pills ready to take that long trip because his wife left him for another woman. The phone rings and it is Joe calling in the favor that Frankie promised. So off to Naples, Florida flies Frankie into a new adventure. He finds out that Naples sure isn’t London and he eventually meets the supporting characters for our story.
There is Billy Rae the nephew who leads an active and irresponsible life, Billy Rae’s friend Jerry, a very vicious, ruthless, and psychopathic mobster Zsolt Mezaros, and Valentina the beautiful wife of Mezaros. Billy Rae runs off with Mezaros’ beautiful wife. The two are finally capture by a crew of wide lapel striped suit character working for Mezaros.
Frankie sets out to free Billy Rae before Zsolt helps Billy Rae take his final vacation to the bottom of the ocean. Frankie reaches out to his security firm to get help from man whose fingers can really excite a computer to help in finding and free Billy Rae.
And then the author sends you at warp speed to the end. Wait there is a second story and the author sets the reader up early in the book; in the first 6% of the book. I wonder if you can spot the second story before the ending of this Five Star cleverly written book.

The story captured my attention and held me hostage from the first chapter... From that point on, I could not put it down...
Kerry Costello tells an entertaining and brilliant tale in this book. He masterfully weaves the main plot with several intertwining subplots, telling his story from several characters' viewpoints... I closely followed the investigation and chose who I thought was the real murderer early on, and eagerly read on to see if I was right (I was not)... There were more twists and turns in this story than a roller coaster... Just when I thought I had all the answers, another clue would make me second-guess myself... The murderer was revealed (I was surprised), but was that the end of the story? Read CONDO today to find out!
After Thought: I am already looking forward to Mr. Costello's next story...

I rotate Mr. Costello’s work among 8-10 of my favorite writers and once again he doesn’t disappoint. IRMA is an easy, fun read, highlighted by interesting plot twists and a most enjoyable touch of Gaelic whimsy. I heartily recommend purchase.

On that perfect morning, filled with suspense and excitement, the intricately woven tale unraveled. Few books can keep me so engrossed, but this masterfully crafted narrative did just that. A routine morning walk with his dog turned Alex and his wife's lives upside down. What started as an innocent encounter with a stranger spiraled into a series of events involving various unrelated criminals, forcing Alex and Rachel to run for their lives. From their once safe haven in Manchester, the couple found themselves fleeing to southern Florida and eventually to the south of France. The vivid descriptions of the scenic, exotic locales heightened the suspense and concern for the terrified pair. I journeyed with them through numerous harrowing encounters, culminating in several intense climaxes.
